Janet Rose
Mentor Mom
Janet married her husband Ernest in 2000 after living and teaching abroad. She became a mom in 2001 to her son EJ who is now 21 and to her son Jacob who is now 19. She is looking forward to doing more traveling with her husband now that her boys are more independent and through HS. Janet stayed home with her boys while they were young and then returned to teaching at their school when they entered elementary. When they became teenagers and left the elementary school she decided to stay home with them again and worked only part-time. Janet's husband frequently travels and she stumbled into MOPS as a young mom not knowing how much she would come to love and appreciate the support and fellowship of other moms. She continues to be friends with some of those ladies from her original MOPS group to this day. Her favorite thing about being a Mom is watching the boys through all of their developmental stages. She finds that while they grow and mature, she too is growing and maturing. There is nothing more humbling than being a mom, and she has learned to give and receive grace in ways that she would never have imagined. Janet can remember prior to having kids saying, "If my kid ever did ___!" She admits to eating her words more than a few times. Janet feels that motherhood is the best gift she has ever been given. She admits... It's been hard, it's been challenging, but it's ALL worth it! Janet is excited to be a Mentor Mom again this year as we move through our "We Go Together” series.
