We want to ensure that our Mosaic family is informed and involved in the process of God bringing a new pastor to our church. The pastor search team will provide updates every four to six weeks, or more frequently if needed, both during Sunday services and on this page. We recommend you check back often to learn where we are in the process and to find out how you can help support this process.

Here is the latest!

January 21st Update

We want to introduce you to Aaron Currin, a candidate for our Lead Pastor of Teaching and Discipleship role. Aaron comes with rich experience as the founding pastor of BLDG 28 Church in Florida, where he nurtured growth and engagement over 12 years. He's known for his dynamic preaching style, appealing to both believers and those exploring faith.

As we continue our search, Aaron will be joining us to preach on February 11th. This visit is a significant step in our discernment process, and while no job offer has been made, it's a wonderful opportunity for mutual exploration.

Attached is a profile to tell you more about Aaron, including some of his background, interests, and perspectives on Mosaic. Please review it to learn more about him and his journey.

We invite you to join us on February 11th to hear from Aaron and be a part of this important phase in our church's journey. Your presence, prayers, and feedback are invaluable as we seek God’s guidance in this process.

We look forward to seeing you there!

December 3rd Update

Here is an important update on our journey to find Mosaic's next Lead Teaching and Discipleship Pastor.

The Search Process

As of November 2023, we’re continuing to interview new candidates introduced to us.  While our prayer has been to fill this position quickly, it has also been to make sure we select the right person; one who God has called and who will bring the right gifts and experiences and be a long part of our church family and success story.

With this update we wanted to offer a snapshot into the process the Pastor Search Team navigates with each candidate presented to us.  Each team member invests over 14 hours per candidate for those under serious consideration.

As you can see, this process is intentional and involved.  It requires a lot of time and dedication!  Please pray for perseverance for us as we continue to prayerfully and carefully evaluate candidates for our next Pastor of Teaching and Discipleship.

Update on the Search Progress

As of September 2023, we're pleased to share that the Pastor Search Team has actively interviewed nearly a dozen candidates, all introduced to us by the Slingshot Group. The diversity in their backgrounds, ranging from various stages of life, geographical locations, education, and ministry experience, has been noteworthy.

Candidate Overview

Each candidate has demonstrated a profound love for the Lord and His Church and a passion for preaching and teaching for transformative life changes. We have encountered individuals from different states, even from another country, and their educational backgrounds have been diverse, spanning from vocational training to PhDs in ministry. Their varied career paths within church positions have given us a broad spectrum of potential, with some having experience in churches larger than Mosaic and others from smaller congregations.

Progress and Responses

Several candidates, who we believed would be great additions to Mosaic, were invited for second interviews. However, doors have been closed for various reasons. While this has brought some disappointment, we recognize it as God’s response to our collective prayers for guidance and direction in this significant process.

Ongoing Applications and Prayer Request

We continue to receive new applications from high-quality candidates and are optimistic about the possibilities ahead. More than ever, we request our Mosaic Family to uphold our congregation, staff, and the Pastor Search Team in your prayers. We seek strength, endurance, discernment, and wisdom as we navigate this journey, trusting in the Lord’s timing. We sincerely ask for your continued prayers for the candidates we'll be meeting in the upcoming weeks and for the discernment of His will by our team.

Thank you for your faithfulness and commitment to seeing Mosaic thrive through this season of change.

july 2023

As of June 22, 2023 Slingshot has reviewed over a hundred leaders and presented the Pastor Search Team with the ones they believe would be the most experienced, gifted and capable to become our next Lead Pastor of Teaching and Discipleship.

Over the next few weeks, the team will review each candidate’s profile and conduct the first round of interviews.  We ask that you pray for each of these candidates and their family as they go through this process, especially for our team to have discernment and wisdom to seek to know His will.

Mosaic’s Leadership Team, including the elders and senior ministry team, recently updated our leadership model.  This update creates a Lead Pastor Team with two pastors, as opposed to one as we had previously had. This model will encourage each pastor to serve from their strengths of their giftedness and passions, while working in collaboration with one another and the Elder Board.

The two lead pastor titles are “Lead Pastor of Teaching and Discipleship” and “Lead Pastor—Staff and Operations.” We are greatly encouraged with this new model and already have one position filled by Kirk Morgan who will be our Lead Pastor—Staff and Operations.

This graphic describes the steps that have been completed as of September 14th, 2023.

Slingshot Group Search Firm

The Elder Board has approved the pastor search team to commission the assistance of Slingshot Group. Slingshot will get to know our church culture and passion while tapping into their nationwide network of pastors in order to connect the two.

Todd Clark is our direct point of contact, a Senior Associate in Senior Leadership with Slingshot. Todd has over 25 years of ministry experience in churches sized between 400 and 23,000. He has served as a youth pastor, founding and lead pastor, and most recently as teaching pastor at Christ’s Church of the Valley in Arizona.

How to Pray

The search team began our process by focusing our prayer on Ephesians 3:16-19 and Colossians 1:9-12. We will continue to center our prayer on these passages, and we encourage the congregation to join us by praying these passages over our team and the search process.

Frequently Asked Questions

How long will it take to find a new pastor for Mosaic?

We are very hopeful as we know that God is already working on guiding the new pastor to Mosaic. As we had mentioned during our family meeting in January, this process may take between 6 to 12 months. We will move as swiftly as possible given this is our number one focus, but we will guard against rushing the process just to fill the position.

What if I see a gap in our current programs or ministry?  How can I share that?

Constructive feedback is always welcomed! If there are any areas where we can improve as we work to live out Mosaic’s vision, mission and values, please do share them with a staff member.

Will any of the current pastors or staff be considered for this role?

If a member of Mosaic’s staff feels called and fully qualified for the role after reviewing the requirements and position posting, they may apply for the position.

Once we have a new pastor, can we expect everything to change?

The elders believe that Mosaic’s current mission, core values and cultural foundation are strong and that we are headed in the right direction. We will seek candidates whose vision is consistent with ours and who want to come alongside our elders, church staff and volunteers to build on the foundation we have created. We are seeking a pastor who wants to preserve and enhance this foundation while providing leadership, new ideas, and teaching that helps our congregation lead Jesus-centered lives.

Therefore, since we are surrounded by so great a cloud of witnesses, let us also lay aside every weight and sin which clings so closely, and let us run with endurance the race that is set before us – Hebrews 12:1 ESV
